A Short Christmas Reflection
Every year so many people experience a letdown, unfortunately for some--even depression, after the Christmas Season. Possibly if more people could come to appreciate that the Christmas experience isn't a one day/short holiday experience--an experience of gift exchanging and sharing that is a single short lived experience. Rather the experience is a year long, really lifetime long, which only begins with the Christmas commemoration. At Christmas we are celebrating that God became man, God is with us, not somewhere up in the heavens out of our human reach. As Saint Matthew writes at the beginning of his gospel quoting Isaiah referring to Jesus' birth; '"Behold a virgin shall conceive a son, and his name shall be called Emmanuel" (which means, God with us). ' Matthew 1:23
Reinforcing this point, Matthew ends his gospel account with Jesus' great commission which ends;
"... and behold, I am with you always, to the close of the age." Matthew 28:20
MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
